Today, the Anglican Church of Southern Africa apologised for failing to protect congregants and the wider community in Cape Town from the ‘high risk’ of abuse Smyth potentially posed.
This programme has uncovered new evidence of the scale of his continued abusive behaviour in South Africa as recently as 2015. He was even planning a holiday camp for children as young as 7.
