A close ally of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has released a defiant video message after being attacked outside his home in Lithuania.
Leonid Volkov was reportedly assaulted in his car with tear gas and a meat hammer. The video shows the Putin critic bruised and bandaged. In his message, Volkov ridiculed the Russian leader, saying he had ordered what he called the ‘typical gangster greeting’. Lithuanian police are investigating the attack.
