Connectivity returns to Gaza as Israel enters ‘second stage’ of war against Hamas

Phones lines and internet connections were slowly returning to the Gaza Strip on Sunday after a blackout plunged the territory into darkness. In a televised press conference, prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Israelis the country was entering ‘the second stage’ of what was likely to be a long and difficult war against Hamas, which he called Israel’s ‘second war of independence’.
