But a poll has revealed that two-thirds of Tory members would actually like to have an electoral pact with them.

Unveiling proposals for almost £50 billion of spending cuts, the Shadow Chancellor Sir Mel Stride argued that the Conservatives were now the only fiscally responsible party.
