The Conservative Party has withdrawn its support from two Parliamentary candidates who are being investigated over allegations about bets placed on the election date. Craig Williams, who was Rishi Sunak’s parliamentary aide and Bristol North West candidate Laura Saunders were both implicated in the row. Their names will still appear on the ballot paper as nominations in the election have closed, but they will not get any campaign support.
