Constance Marten retrial begins

Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have denied manslaughter by gross negligence, and causing or allowing the death of a child.

They’re being retried over the death of their baby daughter, whose body was found in a shopping bag in 2023, after they went on the run with her.

In their previous trial, the couple were found guilty of concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice.

Their retrial is expected to last up to eight weeks.
