Ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine are set to start ‘immediately’, according to US President Donald Trump. Trump spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin for over two hours. Putin said he was ready to work towards peace but fell short of agreeing to the unconditional 30-day-ceasefire that Trump and many European leaders seek. To keep up the pressure, Germany’s chancellor has announced there will be fresh sanctions on Russia, while fresh negotiation talks are also on the table.
