Could Russian 'poisoned pill' spoil ceasefire deal?

The prospects for peace are still bleak in Ukraine despite several days of top level international diplomacy, according to Economist’s defence editor Shashank Joshi.

He told Sky News that European powers are attempting to tie promises of military assistance in a security guarantee to Kyiv with a pledge of US military support to back that up.

But he said Putin is "likely to want to fight on" unless he gets the deal he wants.
