COVID Anniversary: 'The care was amazing', author praises NHS workers during pandemic

Michael Rosen, author of books like "We’re Going on a Bear Hunt", was treated in hospital for COVID-19 and put into an induced coma with a "50/50 chance" of waking up.

He tells Sky’s Matt Barbet that the care he received was "amazing", saying he thanked a nurse who helped feed him, to which she replied "it is my job".

Mr Rosen says "we must remember that every day they are saving lives" but that we forget health workers died during the pandemic. Speaking about his own experience of how workers had to cope with a lack of PPE, he said he remembers "seeing a nurse wearing some kind of improvised mask", and that people were having to use bin bags.
