The COVID inquiry into the government’s handling of the pandemic has resumed with evidence from David Cameron, who was questioned over austerity-era decisions.
The former Prime Minister told the inquiry that a potential influenza pandemic was "seen as the greatest danger" but more questions could have been asked about other diseases.
The British Medical Association has said the NHS was not prepared for the pandemic due to years of spending cuts.
