Covid Inquiry: Hancock defends moving patients to care homes during pandemic | ITV News

Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has told the Covid-19 inquiry that discharging patients from hospital into care homes during the pandemic was the "least worst" move at the time.

A total of 46,000 care home residents died from Covid 19 between March 2020 and July 2022.

Mr Hancock, who was responsible for adult care services in England during that period, was giving evidence to the Covid-19 inquiry for the seventh time.
