Nearly 50 years ago, as emerging icons of British theatre, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen took to the stage in Stratford-upon-Avon to play the doomed couple at the centre of Shakespeare’s blood-thirsty tragedy, Macbeth.
Now, as Dame Judi and Sir Ian, they’ve re-united to back a new way of teaching Shakespeare, aimed at making it less daunting and more enjoyable.
