Deadly wildfires in Turkey as fires spread across southern Europe

Unseasonably high temperatures are fuelling wildfires in Turkey, Bulgaria, Albania and Greece, where people have even been evacuated from suburbs of the capital, Athens.

Torrential rain has hit Romania, triggering flash floods, while across the eastern Mediterranean several countries battle the blazes.

17 people have now died tackling fires this summer in Turkey, where more than 40 are still raging.
