Delegates walk out as Netanyahu speaks about Gaza at UN | ITV News

Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel ‘must finish the job’ against Hamas in Gaza in a defiant speech to the United Nations general asssembly.

As the Israeli prime minister began his speech, dozens of delegates from multiple nations, walked out in protest.

In the Middle East, the Israeli government ensured Palestinians in Gaza heard what he had to say after the military set up loudspeakers at the Israel-Gaza border to blast his words into the territory.

At the start of his speech in New York, Netanyahu was subject to jeering by some delegates.

But the Israeli PM rejected the recent international pressure placed on his government to halt the war in Gaza, insisting they would "finish the job."

In a defiant speech, he said: "Western leaders may have buckled under the pressure,” adding, “and I guarantee you one thing: Israel won’t.”
