Delegates walk out as Netanyahu speaks at the UN - Watch Friday's ITV News At Ten LIVE

To say the international community is divided, over Israel, is an understatement.
You only need to see the reception the country’s Prime Minister got at the United Nations today.

Dozens of delegates got up and walked out, before Benjamin Netanyahu even began speaking.

Others, though, stayed in the Assembly Hall and applauded his speech.
In it, he struck a typically combative tone.

He was defiant, even after a UN commission had ruled his military was committing genocide – and even as protestors rallied just a few blocks away in New York.

Pledging to "finish the job" in Gaza, he said much of the world had forgotten the attacks of October the 7th 2023.

But he promised Israel’s hostages would be ‘brought home’ – a message blasted, by loudspeakers, into the Strip.

Recent moves to recognise a Palestinian state, by countries including the UK, were described as "disgraceful".

Yet there was praise for his principal ally Donald Trump, whom he’s due to meet on Monday; the US President – who was off to the golf, as it happens – claiming a deal to end the war is now "very close".
