
Around 2,000 people have been killed in the protests in Iran which began when shopkeepers took to the streets in the face of a crippling economic crisis.
A Tehran official says the figure includes security personnel and blames "terrorists" for the deaths.
Iranian journalist Tara Kangarlou, who’s in London, says the deaths and the economic crisis facing Iranians are a "human tragedy".
