Liverpool FC footballer Diogo Jota has died following a car crash in Spain.
The 28-year-old was found with his brother Andre, 25, after their vehicle came off the road in the western city of Zamora, the Spanish Civil Guard said.
The Portuguese Football Federation said it was “devastated” to learn of the deaths, adding: “Their deaths represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football.”
The news comes just 10 days after the Liverpool forward married his long-term girlfriend and mother of his three children, Rute Cardoso. In a social media, post he described himself as the luckiest man in the world to be her husband.
