The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched an appeal, aiming to raise money to help support those impacted by last week’s devastating earthquake in Myanmar.
Bringing together 15 leading aid charities – including British Red Cross, Save the Children and Plan International – the DEC is asking the British public to donate ahead of the country’s monsoon season.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which struck on March 28, has killed over 3,000 people and injured almost 5,000, Myanmar’s military government has said. The real figures are expected to be significantly higher.
