Doctors to strike for five days after pay talks break down

Hospitals are bracing themselves for an extra challenging five days ahead, when resident doctors walk out at 7am tomorrow.

NHS England wants to keep as many routine operations and appointments going as possible – something the union behind the strike says will put patients at risk.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has told hospital bosses "we have your back".
