The United Nations Security Council is holding an emergency meeting regarding the United States’ actions in Venezuela. The council says the crisis could lead to regional instability and has warned of setting a dangerous precedent. Venezuela and its allies are accusing the U.S. of violating the U.N. Charter, which enshrines the sovereignty of its member states and prohibits the use of force in international relations.
