Canada’s finance minister, Dominic LeBlanc, announced retaliatory tariffs on US imports, including steel and aluminium, amid a growing trade war.

The measure was a response to 25% tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on Canadian steel and aluminum imports, said LeBlanc.

In the same press conference, Canada’s minister of foreign affairs, Mélanie Joly, asked Americans to tell their elected representatives that they did not want Trump to pursue a trade war against their northern neighbour
