At least 69 people, including three coast guard personnel, a firefighter, and a child, have died after an earthquake measuring 6.9 hit central Philippines.
Officials have said the number of people killed is likely to increase as rescue and retrieval efforts continue, especially as intermittent rain and damaged roads and bridges have worsened working conditions.
Workers are using mechanical excavators and sniffer dogs to look for survivors in collapsed houses and other damaged buildings.
Army troops, police, and civilian volunteers were deployed to carry out house-to-house searches.
