The Environment Agency has declared a drought in the West and East Midlands, with other regions also likely to be hit before the end of July.
Under its "reasonable worst-case scenario", the agency warns that much of England will likely experience drought conditions.
Three heatwaves combined with a lack of rain has left much of England parched and reservoir water levels abnormally low.
