Police were attacked with fireworks, bottles and bricks with rioters also setting a police vehicle on fire.

As many as 2,000 people gathered outside the Citywest hotel Tuesday night, the second night of demonstrations after a 26-year-old man in the hotel was charged in connection to an alleged sexual assault on a ten-year-old victim in the area.

Social media and Telegram channels escalated the protest to draw in more people, with more police drafted in from across the region to keep the rioters back.

Police expect to track down more rioters from social media footage.
