Education sec vows to tackle 'entrenched inequalities' as she wishes A Level students luck

Education secretary, Bridget Phillipson MP, has said that today "is a time for celebration" – as thousands of students receive their results for their A-Levels, T-Levels and AS-Levels.

She added, "if you’ve got what you’ve needed to move onto the next step of your journey, that’s fantastic but if you haven’t, there is lots of support and advice that’s available."

The education secretary has said she wishes all of those receiving their grades "the very best of luck" and her "heartfelt thanks" to teachers, staff and parents.

In a statement this morning, Phillipson also pledged to continue challenging inequality.
