Elon Musk says he will spend less time working to slash public spending for the Trump administration and more time running Tesla.
His work for the Department of Government Efficiency has sparked a backlash against his clean energy car company, which has contributed to its profits falling by 71%.
There have also been attacks on showrooms and vehicles, and Tesla’s share price has been in freefall, partly as a result of Donald Trump’s tariff trade war.
