Elon Musk has announced he is leaving the White House.
The billionaire tech CEO was serving as the president’s cost-cutting tsar, in the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
In a post on the social media platform X which he owns, Elon Musk said:
"As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government."
Musk’s attention will now return to his businesses, after Tesla – saw stocks and sales plummet during his time in Washington.
