Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has publicly dismissed Sir Keir Starmer’s proposed migrant return hub plan, calling Italy’s deal with Albania a “one-off” and confirming he has rejected similar offers from other countries.
Starmer had travelled to Albania to promote the scheme, but the announcement was quickly undermined by Rama’s blunt comments. The government has since scrambled to deny the plan was ever on the table — despite Home Office documents suggesting otherwise.
