And while the last-16 picture is anything but complete, we now know that England will play Germany on Saturday night in the round of 16 if they progress from Group C as runners-up, while a meeting with Spain could then await in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, If England beat Slovenia by fewer than three goals, or by three goals and Slovenia score at least once, plus both Czech Republic and Georgia fail to win, then the Three Lions will play the third-placed team from Group D, which would be Netherlands
