Hundreds of thousands of people were killed in a two-year war between Tigrayan forces and Ethiopia’s government, which ended with a peace deal in 2022.
Now Tigrayan and forces allied with them have made significant advances in the state and attacked two neighbouring regions, saying they are countering aggression by the government.
