Ex-Tory MP charged with gambling offences

The former Conservative MP Craig Williams – who was an aide to Rishi Sunak when he was Prime Minister, is among 15 people who’ve been charged with gambling offences relating to the timing of the 2024 General Election.

The Gambling Commission launched its investigation into individuals it suspected of using advance knowledge of the election date to gain an unfair advantage. Those charged will appear in court in June.
