Watch live outside court in Maryland where Donald Trump’s former adviser John Bolton is expected to surrender to authorities and make his first court appearance.
Bolton is expected to make his first court appearance on charges accusing the former Trump administration national security adviser of storing top secret records at home and sharing with relatives diary-like notes that contained classified information.
He has been one of Mr Trump’s most vocal critics since being sacked from his first administration in 2019, and described him as being unfit for office ahead of last year’s election.
Bolton said the charges filed on Thursday were an effort by the president to "to ensure that he alone determines what is said about his conduct".
