Excavation at a former 'mother and baby home' in Ireland under way

A long-awaited excavation to find the remains of 800 infants buried at a former care home is getting under way in the west of Ireland.

The children died at a so-called “mother and baby home” in the town of Tuam in County Galway between 1925 and 1961.
