Excluded children more likely to offend, charity finds

Excluding a child from school is a last resort, but bad behaviour can leave a mainstream school with no choice.

Now a new report from the Youth Endowment Fund – shared exclusively with this programme – shows that excluded pupils are twice as likely to be involved in violence in later life than those who aren’t. And they’re four times more likely to offend, even after accounting for behavioural factors, socio-economic background or exposure to trauma.
