Concrete is the very foundation of the modern world. But to produce it you need cement – a lot of it. And that’s a material that has a massive carbon footprint, accounting for a whopping 8 percent of all global greenhouse gases.
So how do you reduce that? Well today the government announced it would help create the world’s first carbon capture facility that – if successful – will produce the building essential in a fully decarbonised way.
