Explosions in Kyiv as capital comes under renewed Russian bombardment

Russia has launched missile attacks on Kyiv for the first time in 44 days, Ukrainian officials said. Ukraine’s air force commander, Mykola Oleschuk, said all 31 Russian missiles targeting Kyiv were shot down, comprising two ballistic missiles and 29 cruise missiles. Vitali Klitschko, mayor of the Ukrainian capital, said rocket fragments fell on a kindergarten in Sviatoshynskyi district and a block of flats in another area was on fire. Ten people were injured, Klitschko said, among them an 11-year-old girl
