From a distance, Lebanon’s southern suburbs look like a mass of rubble, damaged and destroyed buildings. Day and night, we see and hear the explosions as another missile hits this heavily built-up area.
It is one of Hezbollah’s strongholds, and benign smiling images of the late former leader Hassan Nasrallah adorn what walls are left and the miles of rubble.
This is where he lived and where he died, and where Israel continues to seek out those associated with Hezbollah.
But it is also a place that is home to hundreds of thousands of people.
