The family of Stephen Ogilvy, the man stabbed on Monday night in north Belfast, have said they do not want the attack to "divide people or fuel hostility" after rioters took to the streets of Belfast on Tuesday evening.
The reaction to the incident saw mobs set homes, a bus and cars on fire, with people targeted based on their race.
