Erik and Lyle Menendez were convicted of killing their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion more than 35 years ago.
The case has gained new traction in recent weeks after Netflix released a new documentary about the brothers and their fight for decades to be re-sentenced.
The brothers claim it was in self-defence. They say they feared their parents were about to kill them to prevent the disclosure of a lifetime of physical, emotional and sexual abuse suffered at the hands of their parents.
Up to two dozen of their family relatives spoke out at a news conference and are are calling for their resentencing.
