Farmers protest in Westminster

Farmers are demonstrating in Westminster against the government’s plans to change agricultural inheritance tax outlined in last month’s budget.

The plans will mean that from April 2026 inherited agricultural assets worth more than £1m will be liable to pay a 20% tax rate, which is half the amount applied to other land and property.
