The first British nationals have left Gaza via the Rafah border crossing from Gaza into Egypt, the Foreign Office has said.
Officials said the crossing will be open for “controlled and time-limited periods” to allow specific groups of foreign nationals and the seriously injured to leave Gaza.
They join over a hundred foreign passport holders and injured Palestinians who have also arrived in Egypt following the reopening of the crossing.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 110 foreign passport holders were allowed to exit Gaza, according to Wael Abu Omar, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Crossings Authority.
It includes 22 volunteers from Doctors Without Borders, the group have said.
