For sixty years, there have been meetings between Popes and Archbishops of Canterbury, with ever warmer relations between the Roman Catholic and Anglican Church – split in such bloody fashion by the Reformation nearly 500 years ago.
But never has that visiting Archbishop been a woman.
Just a month since Dame Sarah Mullally made history as she was installed as the leader of nearly 100 million Anglicans around the world, she made it again today, by being received and welcomed warmly by Pope Leo.
