Flights in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England were disrupted for several hours this morning due to yet another technical glitch at Air Traffic Control.

The Transport secretary Heidi Alexander said engineers had managed to fix the issue at the Prestwick centre in Scotland, but said it was "deeply frustrating" for passengers who had been affected.
2,000 flights were cancelled earlier this month because of a separate software issue.
