The Federal Aviation Administration grounded flights at Reagan Washington National Airport after a reported threat against a United Airlines plane on Tuesday afternoon.
Pictures from the airport showed emergency services surrounding the plane on the runway.
A news update shortly after 1pm local time confirmed the FAA had lifted the ground stop after the security threat report had been cleared.
