Foreign students warned to not overstay visas

Following its move yesterday to suspend family reunions for refugees living in the UK, the government is to warn international students with no legal right to remain that they must leave the UK when their visas end, or potentially face deportation.

Home Office figures show that in the year to June, almost 15,000 students applied for asylum – a fourfold rise on the same period five years ago.
