Former Bank of England chief: Interest rates 'will go higher'

Sir Charles Bean, former deputy governor of the BoE, says that the bank will need to keep "squeezing" the economy until inflationary pressures are cooled.

Sir Charles says that "underlying inflation" in concerning, although he understands that people are anxious for salaries to increase to bolster their standard of living.

Continued, stagnant growth was likely "for quite some time, he added.
