The former Cabinet minister Nadine Dorries has resigned from her Commons seat with a searing attack on the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. She said the country was being run by a ‘zombie Parliament where nothing meaningful has happened’ – before declaring that Mr Sunak had "abandoned the fundamental principles of conservatism".
