Jeffrey Donaldson, formerly the Leader of the Democratic Unionist Party and one of Northern Ireland’s most powerful politicians, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register.
In June, he was convicted of 18 counts of child sex abuse, including rape.
In a statement, the DUP said he "deserves every day of the lengthy prison sentence" and that its thoughts were with the victims.
