Ben Leo says something has gone "very, very wrong" after it emerged a British naval fort is set to become a migrant processing centre.
Fort Blockhouse could be converted into a processing site for small boat arrivals in Hampshire as migrants make more dangerous journeys across the English Channel to reach the UK.
A Home Office spokesperson has said: "We are making progress, with the number of small boat crossings down on last year and June, July and August recording the lowest number of arrivals since 2020. But we must go further, which is why we have signed a payment-by-results deal with the French to put 40% more boots on the ground on French beaches.”
They added: "The Border Security Command works around the clock to protect our border and will continue to detain, check and process every small boat arrival."
