Former Ukrainian politician shot dead whilst on school run in Madrid

A former Ukrainian politician living in Madrid, has been shot dead whilst on the school run.

Andriy Portnov was a senior aide to the pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, before he was ousted in 2014.

Local media say he was dropping his children off when he was targeted outside the gates of the American School of Madrid in the Pozuelo area.
